The FIA European Truck Racing Championship 2012 has started!
The launch of the new season took place on May 13 , 2012, on the new Turkish circuit: Istanbul Park (5338 m). Afterwards, the teams had to compete against each other on the Misano circuit (in Italy). For the time being, Renault Trucks with its MKR Technology team is at the top of the team ranking and Jochen Hahn (MAN) is leading in the drivers' competition. But the season is far from being over, and we might still witness some spectacular changes.

In all four races, the Renault Trucks has always been able to reach the podium. The two leading drivers of the MKR Technology team, Markus Oestreich and Adam Lacko, managed to bring their Renault Premium Course trucks to the best positions. In the general team ranking, Renault Trucks has taken the first three positions at the beginning of this 2012 European Truck Racing Championship 2012.

The Number 1 in the drivers’ ranking after this season’s first races, the German driver Jochen Hahn has his eyes set on this year's champion title. He is being closely followed by another MAN driver, the Spanish Antonio Albacete, who has already won 3 champion titles in the European Truck Racing Championship.
Over the weekend, the Misano race brought together over 30,000 spectators. An important information for all the fans of the European Truck Racing Championship: the next race is scheduled on June 10, 2012, in Jarama, Spain.
