Dakar rallye 2013 : all Russian victories and Kamaz trucks !
The Russian can be proud of themselves and their records at the 2013 Dakar rallye. Eduard Nikolaev finishes the race at the first position with his 4x4 Kamaz 4326 and 37 minutes in advance. The Kamaz Master team is also on the podium with Mardeev and Karginov. Gérard de Rooy and his Iveco Powerstar finishes in fourth position.

A first win for Nikolaev in the Dakar rallye
Dutch Gérard de Rooy from the Petronas Iveco team, last year’s winner, was the favorite for the 2013 Dakar rallye. But the competition took a different turn. Eduard Nikolaev fought to gain seconds and then minutes on Iveco and finally took the advantage during the 10th day. This victory in the Dakar rallye is for Eduard Nikolaev the first in his career. For the Russian make, Kamaz, this is the 11th win in the Dakar rallye and probably the most memorable. The Kamaz Master team couldn’t wish for more than being on the three steps of the podium of the 2013 Dakar rallye…
Fourth position for Gérard de Rooy with Iveco Powerstar
For the Petronas De Rooy Iveco team, the disappointment must be huge. Despite Gérard de Rooy’s undisputable skills as well as those of his Iveco Powerstarn he is not even on the podium, the third be the Russian Karginov, for less than a 3 minute difference. The 2013 Dakar rallye has also know a few withdrawals.
