Scania launches Streamline, series G and R trucks and tractor units for Euro 6
Just before the Euro 6, Scania draws attention by offering a series of trucks and tractor units 2 to 3% more fuel efficient than those developed for Euro 5. Other significant innovation of these new Scania G and R series Streamline: the aerodynamics. They play an important role for Scania since the very first models of Streamline in 1991.

Scania and fuel efficiencies
After the Euro 6 Scania engines presentation a little over a year ago, we were patiently waiting for the first models equipped with this technology. The arrival in the spotlight of the new Streamline trucks and tractor units on March 21st put an end to this wait. Besides its Euro 6 motorization, the Scania Streamline can have a Scania Active Prediction cruise control with the Economy mode of the driving assistance system from the Scania Opticruise, additional solutions to reduce the fuel consumption.
Design and aerodynamics of the new Scania Streamline series
The cab’s angles of the G and R series trucks and tractor units were redesigned to reduce the wind resistance. The air goes to both sides thanks to patented innovation from Scania called “deflector lips”. Designwise, a new sun visor, new lights, new hubcaps and the Ocean Blue metal-coated blue paint gives more style to the Scania Streamline.
