The production of the new Volvo FM will start in September 2013

Tractor units and trucks equipped with 11 and 13 liter engines
The beginning of the Euro 6 norm in January 2014 forces truck manufacturers to review their trucks. The new Euro 6 Volvo FM follows this rule and will be available with the D11 engines with power going from 330hp to 450hp and D13 engines developing between 420hp and 500hp.
Three guiding axels for the new Volvo FM
The trucks and tractor units from the new FM series will be available with two guiding axles in the front and one in the back in their 8x2 version and vice versa with a guiding axle in the front and two in the back. The different axle configurations and chassis dimensions will be introduced in an interface especially developed for coach-builders.
