One year after the release of the TV ad called “The Ballerina Stunt” and “The Hook” a few days ago, Volvo is introducing its new stunning campaign “The Hamster Stunt”. In this ad Volvo Trucks wants to demonstrate how easy to steer is the new Volvo FMX construction truck. For this, Volvo has chosen an original staging, where the viewers can watch a hamster driving the truck.
New Volvo FMX construction truck driven by a hamster
The new Volvo FMX has been equipped with the Volvo Dynamic Steering system and is therefore very easy to handle. To prove it, Charlie, a 175 grams hamster takes the wheel of this 15 tons construction truck! By the way, a hamster wheel has been placed especially on the wheel to make it possible. The scene took place in a quarry in Spain. For this occasion, the hamster was assisted by a stuntman in charge of dealing with the accelerator, the brakes and the path as well.
Volvo Dynamic Steering technology, exclusively with Volvo Trucks
The Volvo Dynamic Steering technology is only available for trucks. This dynamic steering system enables the driver to keep an utmost control without making any effort. When the truck is driven at a low speed, an electric motor takes the helm for the driver, driving has never been so easy! Even when driven at a faster speed, the steering remains really steady and accurate, so that you can barely feel the irregularities of the road by holding the wheel.
