Volvo Trucks’ I-Shift transmission characteristics
This technology is already available for cars but this is a first in the truck industry. Two clutch shafts select two gears simultaneously, it gives the impression to have two gearboxes and it helps preserve the engine torque.
The two-pedal I-Shift transmission will be available in the fall for Volvo FH Euro 6 D13 (460, 500 or 540 hp).
More comfort for a more efficient driving
The two-pedal I-Shift transmission will be particularly efficient on rolling roads, winding roads as well as in cities where changing gears is more frequent.
The gear change without loss of power reduces the cargo moves, a true asset for liquid or animal transport.
