Iveco recently launches  the Stralis HI-Efficiency, which combines several innovations that help reduce the truck's running costs. Iveco's research areas focus on three points : fuel consumption reduction, maintenance costs reduction and the truck's autonomy upgraded.

Iveco Stralis even more profitable

Iveco has already launched different trucks that reduced fuel consumption. In 2011, the Ecostralis had an average fuel economy of 7.3% in comparison to the Stralis in 2007. In comparison to the Stralis in 2007, the Stralis Hi-Way Euro 6 reduced the fuel consumption up to 10%. Today it is almost a 12% reduction for the HI-Efficiency.

Below a comparative table of the different Stralis versions :

  Ecostralis Stralis Hi-Way Stralis Hi-Efficiency
Engine Cursor 10 or 13 Cursor 8, 9, 11 or 13 Cursor 11 Hi-SCR
Power 420 to 500 CV 310 to 560 CV 480 HP
Couple 1900 to 2300 Nm 1300 to 2500 Nm 2250 Nm

Innovations for hauliers

The Eco-Roll optimises the thermal management of the engine. Standard equipment on robotised gearboxes, the Eco-Roll takes advantage of the vehicle's inertia going downhill to automate the gear changes and reduce the fuel consumption to the maximum. Combined with the Eco-Roll, the use of an oil with low viscosity better scatters the heat in the engine and limits the components erosion, which reduces the maintenance costs.

The driver's performances are improved with the DSE (Driving Style Evaluation), that adjusts the driving to save fuel. The suggestions are displayed in real-time on a touch screen. In addition to the DSE, the DAS (Driver Attention Support) informs the driver when his vigilance is reduced : an acoustic and visual signal of the steering wheel show somnolence.
