DAF LF edition 2016 : maximised efficiency
DAF will start in December 2015 the production of the new LF edition 2016, specially made for refrigerated transport.
The Dutch truck manufacturer is about the start the production of the new version of the DAF LF truck, which will feature lots of technical innovations.
An optimised powertrain for a reduced fuel consumption
With their « Transport Efficiency » philosophy, DAF has equipped the new LF in order to reduce the exploitation costs and increase the profitability. Regarding the powertrain, the exhaust after-treatment system has been improved and the PACCAR PX-5 engine (4,5 litres, ranging from 152 to 213 hp) saves fuel up to 5%. The PACCAR PX-7 engine (6,7 litres, ranging from 223 to 314 hp) has a AS Tronic 12-gear automated transmission as an option.
State-of-the-art technology for refrigerated transport
The DAF refrigerated truck LF 2016 can be ordered with a refrigerated block of 22.5kW, combined with the PACCAR PX-5 4-cylinder engine. Different technologies complete this configuration : the AEBS, the FCW, the ACC and the LDWS. The AEBS (Advanced Electronic Braking System) system avoids collision and reduces impacts. The FCW (Forward Collision Warning) strenghtens this device. The ACC (Adaptative Cruise Control) adjusts the truck's speed to keep an adequate safety. The LDWS (Lane Departure Warning System) informs the driver with a beep when he goes out of his lane.
New wheel bases and reinforced aerodynamism
7 new wheel bases are now available for the DAF LF, for a maximum length of 6,90 metres. The loading volume is increased and the operating range extended since the LF has a fuel tank of 1240 liters. The aerodynamism has been developped with new cab extensions and a new deflector on the day cab : the fuel consumption will decrease up to 4% than the current model.
