Oxygène, a concrete mixer trucks with very low CO2 emissions
Vicat group, international cement group, has added a new concrete truck to their fleet, a more environmentally friendly truck : it issues 96% less CO2 that a normal truck (Diesel Euro VI) and two times less outside noises.
An ecological concrete mixer truck
The new "Oxygene" concrete truck stands out with its environmental performances : quiet and with almost no CO2 emissions, this innovative vehicle is an answer to the truck circulation problems in cities. This concrete truck has been designed to mix logistics needs and eco-design needs : the goal is to deliver the concrete in the following two hours of its making, while limiting the impacts on the environment. The numbers sound promising : 96 % less CO2 emissions, 92 % of fine particle and 70 % less Nox emanation thanks to an engine using natural gas for vehicles (NGV). The new truck is loaded in less than an hour and make less than 10 decibels. It has an automony of 150 km when delivering concrete but but can go up to 1500 km in between two refills.
Three partners for environmental protection
Oxygène is the result of strong collaboration between Vicat and haulier Jacky Perrenot, the industrial vehicle manufacturer Iveco and Cifa, concrete material manufacturer.
Haulier Jacky Perrenot is a long time partner of Vicat, and European leader for freight transport with NGV technology. Iveco is a leader in developping NGV engine solutions for road freight transport. Finally, Italian group CIFA is the manufacturer of the CIFA ENERGYA, the only hybrid cement mixer available on the market. A successful partnership at the forefront of innovation.
