The Team Petronas De Rooy Iveco takes part in the 2018 rallys
The Team Petronas De Rooy and manufacturer Iveco are at the 8th year of collaboration on the toughest rallys in the world. During the 2018 season, two major events will take place. Indeed, the Iveco Powerstar from the Team Petronas De Rooy Iveco (equipped with Iveco Cursor 13 engines of 1000hp) will participate in the 2018 Dakar and the 2018 Africa Eco Race.
The 2018 Dakar
on January 6th, 2018, the iconic rally started for the 40th time (and the 10th time in South America). The organisers have integrated difficult stages for participants : they have to go through dunes and high altitudes.
The Team Petronas De Rooy Iveco has sent two teams. The first one, in the Iveco Powerstar 508, is made of Artur Ardavichus (new pilot for the Team Petronas De Rooy Iveco), Serge Bruynkens (co-pilot) as well as Michel Huisman (mechanic). The Dutch pilot Ton Van Genugten, co-pilot Peter Willemsen and mechanic Bernard der Kinderen are on the second team with the vehicle number 509.
The Africa Eco Race 2018
This rally is getting more and more attraction : for the 10th edition (from December 31st to January 14th), more and more pilots participate in this rally (around a hundred pilot).
For this one as well, the Team has sent two teams. The leader, Gerard De Rooy, will be in the race, driving the Iveco Powerstar 400. His loyal co-pilot Moi Torrallardona and mechanic Darek Rodewald are with him. The second team is made of Wuf Van Ginkel (pilot), Erik Kofman (co-pilot) and Bert van Donkelaar (techinical assistance). Their Iveco Powerstar is the vehicle number 403.
