Renault Trucks is restructuring its Saint-Priest site

Renault Trucks is set to modernize its factory in Saint-Priest, France. Several old facilities will be replaced by a new building intended to house the future global spare parts distribution center for the manufacturer.

An investment of 132 million euros

The current distribution center is also located in the Lyon region (Vénissieux). Occupying a century-old building, it is no longer able to evolve and modernize. Therefore, the decision has been made to install this platform in place of the Saint-Priest site for the production of bridges and axles, which will be transferred to Vénissieux.

Renault Trucks has already announced the schedule. Once the building permit is filed, the relocation of the "Bridges & Axles" activity can begin, allowing the demolition of the existing structure and the site's decontamination. The construction of the new building will start in 2026 and will be completed by the end of 2027. It will then be gradually equipped before operational start-up planned for the second quarter of 2028.

An environmentally friendly approach

This significant project is part of Renault Trucks' decarbonization policy. Not only will the new building be less energy-consuming than the current installations, but it will also be able to produce energy through photovoltaic panels installed on the roof.

This energy will have the advantage of being clean. According to estimates, it should be sufficient to cover all the building's needs (including heating and recharging forklifts or electric vehicles) as well as those of the surrounding structures. The manufacturer has also committed to green the Saint-Priest site by planting 400 trees.

Commitment to research and development is evident through initiatives aimed at addressing ecological challenges and ensuring more sustainable goods mobility. Teams work together to develop solutions that meet increasingly stringent environmental standards, including exploring alternative technologies and implementing measures to reduce the carbon footprint of trucks.

Safety is also a major priority, with a focus on developing advanced systems to ensure the protection of drivers, passengers, and other road users.
