In Kiruna, in the north of the country, the city’s iconic church was successfully moved to its new location. Built at the beginning of the 20th century and regarded as one of Sweden’s most beautiful buildings, this 713-tonne wooden structure was transported in one piece by the company Mammoet. The operation, dubbed “The Great Church March,” required over 1,000 hours of preparation and took place over two days, in the presence of thousands of spectators and the King of Sweden. This project is part of the relocation of the city center, made necessary by the expansion of the mine operated by LKAB.

In Germany, the haulier Elflein tested the MAN eTGX on a 360-kilometre route between BMW’s Leipzig and Regensburg sites. The electric vehicle completed the journey without difficulty, showing an average consumption of 75 kWh per 100 kilometres. Currently operated with diesel and bio-LNG trucks, this inter-plant transport is carried out 25 times per day. A full electrification of the fleet would, according to estimates, allow for an annual reduction of nearly 3,000 tonnes of CO2.

The municipality of Amsterdam announced the order of 40 DAF XD Electric trucks, to be put into service in 2026. These vehicles, delivered in a 6x2 FAN configuration, will be adapted for various uses thanks to a design that allows for high flexibility in integrating body equipment. This choice is part of the Dutch capital’s ambition to reduce the carbon footprint of its public services, particularly in the waste management sector.
