A MAN truck covers the equivalent of 8 round trips to the Moon
A few months ago, the manufacturer launched a competition called "MAN Truck Max Mileage Master 2025", with the aim of designating the brand’s truck that had covered the greatest number of kilometers.
Bringing the MAN community together
At the beginning of the year, MAN posted on its social networks a publication detailing the conditions for participation. The contest was open to European customers owning a truck of the brand (the MAN fleet is estimated at 880,000 vehicles in Europe). However, it had to have been produced in 2007 or later. More than 70 candidates came forward, whose vehicles together accounted for 75 million kilometers. This distance is equivalent to 1,800 trips around the Earth or about a hundred round trips to the Moon. Most participants reported mileage exceeding one million.
3,266,208 kilometers on the clock!
The "MAN Truck Max Mileage Master 2025" recently delivered its verdict. The winner is the company Osthavelland Transport GmbH, owned by Helmut Heckmann and based in Velten (Germany). It presented a MAN TGX 18.360 dating from 2008. Having arrived brand new at the haulier, it has since covered the impressive distance of 3,266,208 kilometers – that’s eight round trips between Earth and the Moon!
The winning truck is still in service. As from the beginning, it remains assigned to long-distance missions. It is regularly used by two drivers who take turns behind the wheel.
