The manufacturer is unifying all its military vehicle ranges under a single brand, previously spread across several entities. The Wörth-am-Rhein and Molsheim plants form the European industrial backbone. Military variants are integrated directly on existing production lines.
The aftersales network relies on approximately 5,000 service points in more than 160 countries. Daimler Truck plans to expand its geographical coverage and improve spare parts availability in priority operating zones. Around 1,000 employees currently work on the group's defence programmes.

An order book growing across three continents

Among recently signed contracts: a Bundeswehr order for more than 100 logistics vehicles, a contract with the Canadian Armed Forces for at least 1,500 trucks in partnership with General Dynamics Land Systems, and a framework agreement with the French Armed Forces for 7,000 trucks on the Zetros platform, conducted with Arquus.
The portfolio will range from light utility vehicles to heavy tactical logistics platforms. Daimler Truck is also working on modular architectures and autonomous system integration solutions. The group presented its Unimog, Zetros, and Arocs vehicles at the Eurosatory 2026 trade show in Paris last week.

Daimler Truck accelerates in global military mobility

Around the world in 80 charges with the eActros 600

The eActros 600 selected for this project is a 4x2 rigid truck that came off the production line at the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth-am-Rhein in April 2026. It carries three LFP batteries with a nominal capacity of 207 kWh each, totalling 621 kWh installed. This architecture gives it a range of 500 km in long-distance transport at 40 tonnes GVW, with a daily capacity potentially exceeding 1,000 km when charging takes place during mandatory rest periods. LFP technology enables use of more than 95% of the installed capacity, with a projected battery state of health above 80% after 1.2 million kilometres.
For the expedition, the vehicle has been adapted: single tyres, additional front headlights, a spare wheel mount integrating a mobile charging unit. A motorhome-type living cell, developed by Bliss Mobil, will be fitted to the chassis. The rigid truck configuration, lighter than a tractor-trailer combination, will allow the nominal range to be significantly exceeded.

45,000 km, 35 countries, 80 charging stops

The route will cross contrasting environments: equipped motorway networks, rural roads and remote areas where high-power charging infrastructure for heavy goods vehicles is virtually non-existent. Planning incorporates climatic, topographical and homologation constraints specific to each territory. Wagner has already accumulated 200,000 kilometres in electric driving, including several thousand at the wheel of an eActros 600 since the summer of 2025 on behalf of Nanno Janssen Spedition GmbH in Leer, Lower Saxony.

An industrial programme in active deployment

The eActros 600 has been in series production since late 2024 at the Wörth-am-Rhein plant and is already deployed in more than 15 European countries. Voted "International Truck of the Year 2025" by a jury of 24 specialist journalists, it is now available in more than 40 variants, all based on LFP technology and the in-house developed eAxle. The presentation of the finalised expedition vehicle is scheduled for early summer 2026, with departure in the autumn.

Around the world in 80 charges with the eActros 600

DAF launches the XG and XG+ Electric into series production

Technical architecture and performance

The XG Electric and XG+ Electric are equipped with the PACCAR EX-D2 drivetrain, available in two power outputs: 270 kW (370 hp) and 350 kW (480 hp), with a maximum torque of 2,400 Nm. The driveline is powered by up to five modularly mounted lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries on the chassis. Depending on configuration, the vehicles achieve zero-emission ranges exceeding 500 km. Both models are available in several chassis configurations tailored to the demands of long-haul transport.
The XG+ cab offers an interior volume of up to 12.5 m³, making it the segment benchmark for driver liveability: workspace, rest area and bunk. The aerodynamic body design directly contributes to overall energy efficiency. The XG and XG+ Electric share their platform with the XD and XF Electric, jointly named "International Truck of the Year 2026" for their drivetrain efficiency and driver comfort.
With these two new models, DAF covers the full electric spectrum, from the 12-tonne XB for urban distribution to the XG and XG+ tractors dedicated to full long-haul operations.

In response to a query phrased in natural language, "Which drivers have room for improvement?" or "What recommendations can I give to drivers?", the system generates a contextual assessment and actionable guidance that can be passed directly to teams.
The parameters analysed cover anticipatory driving behaviour, exceedances of the defined speed range, accelerator pedal usage with cruise control active, idling times, and component wear. Data is returned in a standardised format, enabling objective comparison between vehicles and drivers whilst accounting for route profiles and traffic conditions specific to each assignment.

Perform on the RIO platform: near-real-time data

Perform accesses usage data and evaluates the difficulty of completed transport cycles, vehicle by vehicle or across the entire fleet. Fleet managers can thus identify untapped efficiency potential and premature wear without manual queries in reporting interfaces.

Phased rollout across Europe

Launched in Austria in spring 2025, the assistant has been available to Perform customers in Germany since April 2026. The extension to France is planned for spring 2026, ahead of further expansion to other European markets. Integration with the MAN Driver app allows drivers to consult their individual performance indicators and adjust their driving style autonomously, without fleet manager intervention.

MAN accelerates fleet management with AI

FH Aero Electric e-axle: Volvo breaks the 700 km range barrier

The Volvo FH Aero Electric e-axle is the centrepiece of this launch. The e-axle integration frees up space in the chassis to accommodate more batteries, bringing total capacity to eight packs. The result: 700 km of range with no penalty on payload — an unprecedented performance in this segment.
Compatibility with the MCS (Megawatt Charging System) standard allows all eight batteries to be charged from 20% to 80% in around 50 minutes, fitting within a driver's mandatory rest break. This charging window is a key factor for integration into long-haul routes.

FH, FM and FMX: versatile powertrain and integrated power take-off

The new-generation Volvo FH, FM and FMX Electric feature an entirely new powertrain combining two electric motors with an eight-speed powershift gearbox. Gear changes occur under load, reducing jerkiness and cabin noise levels. Range reaches up to 470 km, with a 20%–80% charge in 65 minutes. The specific equipment is the other major technical contribution: a power take-off (PTO) integrated directly into the gearbox eliminates the need for an auxiliary unit to power onboard equipment — concrete mixers, lifting arms, refuse trucks. This architecture broadens possible applications without modifying the drivetrain.

Progressive market rollout from 2026

The FH Aero Electric e-axle and the three renewed models will be sold in sequence throughout 2026. Volvo Trucks has not yet specified market availability dates or the pricing structure for this new generation.

FH Aero Electric e-axle: Volvo breaks the 700 km range barrier

MAN unveils its new TGX

A 250-tonne GCW

The TGX 41.640 8x4/4 is equipped with a MAN engine delivering a maximum
output of 640 hp. The inline six-cylinder MAN D3876 also provides a high torque
of 3,000 Nm, available over a wide range (from 900 to 1,380 rpm). This feature
enables it to haul heavy loads at low speeds.
The TipMatic 12.30 OD automated gearbox includes a torque converter that
ensures precise maneuvering and smoother starts, reducing strain on components.
It also offers two operating modes that adjust engine behavior according to the
load weight to save fuel. The braking system benefits from Retarder 40
technology, designed to deliver high continuous braking power while preserving
component lifespan.

Heavy-duty equipment built to last

Produced at the Munich and Wittlich plants, this road tractor is equipped
with heavy-duty components straight from the factory. Installed within a
protective rack behind the cab, it consists of six tanks. Four are dedicated to
compressed air storage, with a total capacity of 160 liters. The fifth holds
960 liters of fuel, while the last, with a capacity of 290 liters, is dedicated
to the hydraulic system. To maintain the engine’s thermal stability even under
heavy loads, an oversized cooling unit is also part of the system.

With around sixty sites in the Netherlands, Simon Loos employs more than
3,000 people and operates approximately 1,200 vehicles. Thanks to this new
purchase, it now owns one of the largest electric truck fleets in Europe. At
the national level, it is ahead of all its direct competitors.
As early as 2021, Simon Loos took the step toward clean vehicles with the
introduction of an eActros 300, a first on the continent. In 2024, on the
advice of its trusted partner GomesTrucks and Daimler Truck, the service
provider chose the eActros 600 for its performance and reliability. In the
autumn of that same year, it placed an initial order for 75 trucks, which has
recently been renewed.

Delivery of the new eActros 600 underway

So far, around fifty of the first eActros 600 trucks purchased have been
delivered. Most are assigned to food distribution operations. Three-axle models
are used for beverage logistics or network transport operations.
The coming weeks will be devoted to receiving and commissioning the
remaining twenty vehicles. As предусмотрено in agreements between the partners,
once this stage is completed, delivery of the 75 trucks from the second order
can begin.

The DAF 6x6 military
truck features all-wheel drive, allowing it to move easily regardless of
terrain conditions. Its central load-bearing tubular chassis, independent
suspension system for each wheel, and CTIS solution (central tire inflation
system) also ensure driving comfort in all circumstances.
The version presented at BEDEX 2026 featured an armored cab capable of
withstanding ballistic attacks or mine blasts. It can be replaced with a
civilian DAF cab already used on other models from the manufacturer.
Appreciated for its spaciousness, it offers proven durability. Access is also
made easier thanks to a low-floor design.

A cooperative development

DAF Trucks, Tatra Trucks and VDL Groep formed a partnership several years
ago aimed at developing new military vehicles. For this project, Tatra, for
example, designed the all-wheel drive system and the armored cab. DAF, for its
part, produces the PACCAR MX-13 engine and the civilian cab. Its dealer network
also handles maintenance of these trucks used by the Belgian army. VDL Groep
equips the vehicles with various compatible and durable superstructures. The
DAF 6x6 on display, for example, featured a CargoBody unit adapted for military
use.
