In Argentina, Samsung tries out a new system, which sees like a truck driver, with screens behind the truck. This ought to limit accidents when passing other vehicles.

Passing a truck can often be difficult and dangerous, especially in Argentina, where on average, a driver dies every hour behind the wheel. The visibiliy is limited, and this is what Samsung tries to change.

Engineers came up with an innovative system, based on reverse camera technology. They integrated cameras on the front bumper, so that the vehicle behind can visualize what is coming or not.

Technology to improve road safety

The system called  « Safety Truck » connects the wireless camera at the front of the vehicle to four screens on the back doors of the truck. The signal is broadcast in real time. The vehicle behind the truck sees the same thing as the truck driver as well as a larger visibility at a greater distance. La caméra est équipée d’une vision nocturne et présente la même efficacité, même de nuit.

Today, six trucks are equipped with this new system in Argentina.
