Daimler Truck accelerates in global military mobility
Daimler Truck is creating "Daimler Truck Defence," a global brand dedicated to military mobility solutions. The company will invest several hundred million euros by 2028 to reach €1 billion in revenue in this segment. Strategic oversight is managed from the Wörth-am-Rhein site in Germany.
Daimler Truck Defence brings together the group's global capabilities
The manufacturer is unifying all its military vehicle ranges under a single brand, previously spread across several entities. The Wörth-am-Rhein and Molsheim plants form the European industrial backbone. Military variants are integrated directly on existing production lines.
The aftersales network relies on approximately 5,000 service points in more than 160 countries. Daimler Truck plans to expand its geographical coverage and improve spare parts availability in priority operating zones. Around 1,000 employees currently work on the group's defence programmes.
An order book growing across three continents
Among recently signed contracts: a Bundeswehr order for more than 100 logistics vehicles, a contract with the Canadian Armed Forces for at least 1,500 trucks in partnership with General Dynamics Land Systems, and a framework agreement with the French Armed Forces for 7,000 trucks on the Zetros platform, conducted with Arquus.
The portfolio will range from light utility vehicles to heavy tactical logistics platforms. Daimler Truck is also working on modular architectures and autonomous system integration solutions. The group presented its Unimog, Zetros, and Arocs vehicles at the Eurosatory 2026 trade show in Paris last week.
