Italy traffic restrictions and bans for trucks in 2026
General rules
There is a traffic ban for trucks with a GVWR of more than 7.5t from 9am to 22pm on Sundays and public holidays (except on Sundays in June, July, August and September when the ban starts at 7am), as well as the following days :
- Friday 3 april from 2pm to 10pm,
- Saturday 4 april from 9am tp 4pm,
- Tuesday 7 april from 9am tp 2pm,
- Saturday 30 may from 9am tp 2pm,
- Saturday 4, 11, 18, 25 July and 7, 14 August from 8am to 4pm,
- Friday 24, 31 July and 7, 14 August from 4pm to 10pm,
- Saturday 1 and8 August from 8am to 10pm.
Additional prohibitions
In each country, there are local traffic bans, sometimes temporary on certain routes. Tunnels, construction zones, environmental zones…
Often, seasonal restrictions can also be applied.
Before getting on the road, it is adviced to directly check amongst the national standards organizations provided for that purpose.
