Tractor Volvo FH
FH is a range of carriers and tractors for long-distance transport launched by the Swedish manufacturer Volvo in 1993, replacing the F range. FH stands for “Forward control High cab”. The first models marketed are the FH12 and the FH16. Equipped at launch with a D12 engine, the Volvo FH is equipped for the Euro 6 standard with either a D13 engine (420, 460, 500 or 540 hp), or a D16 engine (550, 650 or 750 hp ). It benefits from the I-Shift transmission and I-See cruise control which saves around 5% fuel.
The Volvo FH is also fitted with VEB (Volvo Engine Brake), a compression engine brake developed by Volvo. Available with different axle configurations (4X2, 6X2, 6X4, 8X2 and 8X4), the Volvo FH can support a maximum GVW of 120 tonnes. There are four types of cab for the Volvo FH: sleeper, sleeper with low roof, Globetrotter and Globetrotter XL. In 2003 Volvo introduced the new FH16, which is the manufacturer's most powerful truck to date. Building on its success with truck drivers, the Volvo FH has been voted "Truck of the Year" three times: in 1994, 2000 and 2014 for the latest version of the FH16.
