UK government subsidy for buyers of electric vans
Today, electric vehicles remain quite expensive, and the charging infrastructure for this type of vehicles is still underdeveloped. The UK government realized that its support was fundamental for further development of this sustainable mode of transportation. The current electric car incentive has been extended to vans, with provision out to 2015. A great news for both environment protectors and electric vehicle manufacturers.

The United Kingdom on the road to its green future
The key objective for the UK government is to establish a network of 1,300 charging stations for electric cars by 2013. In 2015, 25,000 dedicated plug-in points are expected to be installed all throughout the country. For now, the country only has 500 electric-car charging stations, mostly situated inside and around the British capital. The United Kingdom is considered the European leader in this field, way ahead its French and German neighbours.
Vans: more important than ever
When compared to petrol or diesel vehicles, the electric vans are a particularly attractive alternative for professionals. These commercial vehicles allow to cut down costs considerably, while simultaneously decreasing harmful emissions for the environment.
The UK government offers to all buyers of electric commercial vehicles an aid that covers 20% of the retail price (with a maximum limit of €9,500). It has been added to a prior electric car subsidy offering up to €6,000 (limited to 25% of the retail price). A perfect incentive for all professionals in the coming years.
