Ford unveils its latest commercial vehicle: the Ford Transit Custom!
The change is coming to Ford, and the entire range of its commercial vehicles will be completely transformed by the year 2014. Ford presented its Ford Transit Custom, the first model of this new Ford generation, at the Birmingham Commercial Vehicle Show. It is the commercial vehicle version of the Tourneo Custom intended to carry passengers. The Ford Transit Custom should go on sale in Europe around October 2012.

The Ford Transit Custom, a truly stylish and resourceful van
Ford has spared no effort in designing this Ford Transit Custom: its athletic and dynamic appearance will surely make a difference on the commercial vehicle market. Equipped with a 2.2-liter TDCi engine, this model will be available in 3 versions: 100, 125 and 155 hp. For the standard version of the Ford Transit Custom, its fuel consumption should amount to 6.6L/ 100 km, and the commercial vehicle is expected to emit an average of 174 grams/km of CO2.
The first cargo version by 2012
At first, the Ford Transit Custom will be launched as cargo van with a payload capacity ranging from 600 up to 1400 kg. Buyers will be able to choose from two wheelbase versions: 4.97 and 5.35 m. The Ford Transit Custom will be 1.90-meter wide, and its height will not exceed 2 m. Subsequently, Ford is also expected to launch other variants, such as, panel van, double cab-in-van, etc.
