Canter, a 6.5-ton light-duty truck from Mitsubishi Fuso, is now available in an all-wheel-drive variant. Its small size and high payload capacity will undoubtedly enable it to carve out a place for itself as an intermediary between heavy-duty trucks and light commercial vehicles. In France, it will have to face stiff competition from Renault Maxity, already available in a 4x4 version.

The new Fuso Canter 4x4 meets the requirements of anybody who has to work in the most demanding environment on a daily basis: contractors, fire-fighters, municipal authorities for snow clearance, etc. Being only 2 metre wide, the Fuso Canter 4x4 can go anywhere! It also has other essential assets: good manoeuvrability, strong yet compact cab, long-term corrosion protection. The truck's payload capacity varies from 3500 kg up to 3735 kg, depending on the version. Customers can choose a Fuso Canter 4x4 with a single cab (3 seats) or a crew-cab (7 seats), with wheelbases of 3415 mm and 3865 mm respectively. Drivers will particularly appreciate the comfortable and ergonomically efficient cab design by Mitsubishi.
A diesel Euro V and EEV compliant engine
For an all-terrain light-duty truck, the engine power is crucial. Mitsubishi knows it all too well, and the truck's standard version is equipped with a 3.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel with 175 horsepower. The manufacturer didn't overlook the Euro V and EEV standards either: the standard engine of the Fuso Canter 4x4 features diesel particulate filter and exhaust gas recirculation system, which enable it to meet all these standards.
